2) Gutenberg, The Musical at Amphibian

Get out of the summer heat and into the coolness of Amphibian Stage Productions. This is not the story of Gutenberg. This is the story of Bud and Doug.   Gutenberg! The Musical! is going to propel these two into the canon of great American musical writing teams. George and Ira, Rogers and Hammerstein, Bud and Doug.  That’s if the staged reading of their genius new musical touches the hearts and hopes of the Broadway producers in the audience. One accompanist, a ton of trucker hats, and an unlimited amount of enthusiasm are the tools the committed duo will use to convince anyone watching to join them in seeing their dream come true, a Broadway contract. Wanna be a part of the dream? Get on down to the Near Southside and Amphibian Stage!

3) Mimir Festival at TCU’s Pepsico Recital Hall

7) Live Music Under the Stars

Every weekend is an awesome experience at Levitt Pavilion in Arlington. This weekend is no exception. On Friday, it’s the Queen of Austin Soul, Tameca Jones. The spirit of the singer and story teller is kept alive on Saturday with Dalton Domino on the Levitt stage. The stage is really humming on Sunday when Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros hit the stage. His story-telling songs, hard-edged vocals and plaintive guitar have made him a fixture of the Texas music scene. Together since 2007, their sound has been called “highly reminiscent of 1970s country/rock” with quality songwriting and vocal arrangements. Another “Don’t Miss” weekend at The Levitt!

Disclaimer: What’s Up Fort Worth features many events in other cities (including Dallas) when our staff feels that the event has DFW market-wide interest and that fans in Fort Worth and Tarrant County will make the trek to Dallas for the event.
