1) Ocean Blues at The Modern

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and Amphibian Stage partner up for an event created to heighten our community’s cultural awareness of African and African-Caribbean culture. Intervention: Ocean Blues combines spoken word, dance, stilt dancing, improvisation, ritual, procession, sculptural costuming and music to create a unique form of storied performance that will unfold in the Grand Lobby at the Modern.

2) Monet: The Late Years Opens at The Kimbell

Opening Sunday, This is the first exhibition in more than twenty years dedicated to the final phase of Monet’s career.
Through 52 paintings, the exhibition will trace the evolution of Monet’s practice from 1913, when he embarked on a reinvention of his painting style that led to increasingly bold and abstract works, up to his death in 1926. Monet: The Late Years will include more than twenty examples of Monet’s beloved water-lily paintings.

3) FWSO Concerts in the Garden

This concert series earns distinction in BEST BETS every week. This week, two of the three nights will ROCK you with hits from U2 and Led Zeppelin. Then, sit back on Sunday and experience 1812 Overture.

4) Friday on the Green in Near Southside

This Southside neighborhood picnic and concert has become one of the most popular outings for Fort Worthians and a great way to kick-off the weekend. Gather up your families and friends, your blankets, chairs and pets to enjoy a lineup of four great local bands, children’s activities and an artisan market. Here’s a look at this week’s line-up:

5) Trinity Pride Fest at Magnolia Green

Head to Magnolia Green for a night of Music, Food, and Fun, celebrating our local queer community during Pride Month!
